PVE ~500 on backline casters, ~550 on my warrior and heroes.
My heroes stopped dying when I stopped using Superior runes on them.

About 500hp usually, depends on armor set though (energy, health, ...)

I think everyone who runs less than 500 HP should get in a team and do a hard mode dungeon without consumables or ursan, and see how they do... XD Seriously. I'll even organize it... then we'll see how it goes.

- "Save Yourselves!" + "There's Nothing to Fear!" means your team doesn't die. Also there's this thing called Protection line on Monks. AI script for monsters is bad and this is why you're not supposed to load your party with 600 health tanks in PvE. Superior runes add more damage to skills and this means the party finishes tasks faster.

- Learn the math... +100 armor reduces damage by 82.32%, then TNtF reduces that by 35%. That's 11.49% of damage received. This means 500 health character has effectively 500/0.11492 = 4350 health.

Please find in this thread where I said TNtF or SY are bad skills. I think they are great damage reducers, but in a party there is not always room for one, and paragons aren't the most popular characters in PvE. They're called imbagons for a reason. Please don't talk to me like I don't know the benefits of ++ armor

- Based on your last post you seem to think health totals is the factor that keeps teams alive, which is wrong. Try to focus a little will ya?

495 on my ranger, including the +30 on weps. Mixed radiant, survivor runes.
515 on my rit.
535 on my para.
530+ on my mesmer, who was going for survivor until a bad lag at Sebelkeh.
Nobody higher than those, I think. The mules never see combat, so I've been stripping their runes.

Most of the time, with over 400HP I'm fine.
Armor it's more important than HP, since in PvE not many monsters bring armor-ignoring damage.

A higher health total certainly helps. Please don't infer if you suck at doing it - it just causes situations like this that don't need to be had.

Armor is what matters in PvE anyway!
Health mainly only helps vs degen, which isn't a big enough problem to splurge money on additional health for.

Most people here generally have around 550. That's about 100hp more than I have. Any half-decent monk can negate that, even a simple orison/WoH + divine favor will offset much of it. Also, my Ranger with around 460hp has NEVER had problems HMing dungeons with that health. I think most people here have just gotten too insecure travelling with less health.

I'm an earth elementalist and smart enough to know how to play a monk. Negating damage is far superior to charging in with 600 health and just healing the damage you do take.
Playing smart and not allowing mistakes is far better than buffing your health as far as it will go to cater to mistakes.

I have the extra health as a precaution. When you're getting dealt insane amounts of damage in HM, sometimes that extra bit of health is the difference between life and death. Health is not as important in PvE as it is in PvP, but its still nice to have.

My monk runs 600 hp across the board - especially when I'm wearing my shield, I find mobs are just more interested in beating on someone else. She has a +energy set for bonding, but I avoid bonding whenever I can.
Other characters are treated the same as my monk's heroes: major vigor, survivor insignia unless build and class suggests a specific +armor insignia, and minor runes unless there is a significant advantage to using a major or superior rune (and even then only 1).

Around 400 for me. In PvE I use two superior runes.
Monsters ain't usually tough enough for fights to be down to the wire.
My priority is to kill quicker. Because there be a lot of fights to get through.
Moar powa!
This is of course only for PvE.

My old mesmer used to run with 670.
My guys usually go for survivor so unless there is a breakpoint in there hiding somewhere - I just slap those vitae runes on the armour instead of the minor runes. It's not like I am missing much.
I almost never use sup vigor because I have way to much armours (only on those special occasions - the mesmer got it for FoW, the necro for his Vabbi and I think the other mesmer got it for his Ascalon one).
And I add runes to my heroes in only few situations - why waste the money. Hell as I deleted my old necro a few months ago - I saw that I got though the whole game with Koosy and him using the starter sword. And not the starter one you get one - but the REAL starter - single digit numbers damage one ...
I have my heroes to kill things for me and to die for me.
And they always manage to do at least one of those things.
And I don't PvP with these guys any longer.
Free sup vigor for ANY char in PvP? How could I say no?
